Sienna MUD#6 Sanitary Sewer System Maintenance to Begin 2/12/25

SIENNA MUD #6 NOTICE

THE SANITARY SEWER SYSTEM IN YOUR AREA WILL BE SMOKE TESTED WITHIN THE NEXT FEW DAYS.  THIS TESTING WILL GIVE THE DISTRICT ENGINEER DATA AS TO THE CURRENT CONDITION OF THE WASTEWATER SEWERS.  THIS TESTING IS BEING PREFORMED BY AUTHORIZATION OF YOUR WATER BOARD, AND THE DISTRICT ENGINEER.

THE SMOKE FOR THE TESTING IS HARMLESS, AND IS APPROVED FOR USE IN PUBLIC SEWER SYSTEMS.  IF THE SMOKE SHOULD ENTER YOUR HOME, ALL YOU NEED TO DO IS VENTILATE THE AREA BY OPENING A WINDOW, OR TURNING ON A FAN.  LEAVE THE AREA UNTIL THE SMOKE DISSIPATES.  PLEASE NOTIFIY ONE OF THE SMOKE CREW PERSONNEL.  THE SMOKE SHOULD EXIT THROUGH THE VENT STACK ON THE ROOF OF YOUR HOME.

IF SMOKE SHOULD ENTER YOUR HOME, THIS WILL INDICATE A BREAK, OR PROBLEM, WITH YOUR PLUMBING.  A LICENSED PLUMBER SHOULD BE CONTACTED.  ALL YOUR SINKS, AND TOILETS, HAVE AN “S” CONFIGURATION OF PIPING TO BLOCK POTENTIALLY HARMFULL SEWER GASES, AND ODORS FROM ENTERING YOUR HOME.  THE SMOKE WE UTILIZE FOR OUR TESTING IS ALSO BLOCKED BY THESE DEVICES.  PLEASE RUN WATER THROUGH ALL OF YOUR SINKS, BATHTUBS, AND SHOWERS.

OUR CREWS DO NOT NEED TO ENTER YOUR HOME.  ALL TESTING OF THE SEWER MAINS WILL BE CONDUCTED FROM THE STREET ACCESSIBLE MANHOLES.  IF A MANHOLE SHOULD BE LOCATED IN YOUR BACKYARD, OUR CREWS WILL NEED TO ACCESS IT VIA A SIDE GATE.

Emergency Repairs Missouri City Surface Water Plant

Repairs are underway at the Missouri City Surface Water Plant as of 12/3/24.

All Sienna MUDs will be utilizing Ground Water until repairs are completed.

During this conversion, you may experience differences in the taste and odor in the drinking water. The water is safe to drink, use for cooking, bathing, and other every day use.

Sienna MUD Districts Have Rescinded All Drought Contingency Response Measures

Due to the recent rain and cooler weather, Sienna MUDs have rescinded all Drought Contingency Response Measures.

Residents can still help reduce water demand by following the following conservation tips:

  1. Routinely monitor irrigation systems for leaks.
  2. Irrigate lawns in early morning and late in the evenings.
  3. Check indoor plumbing for leaks and running toilets.

All Sienna MUD Districts are Currently Operating Under Stage 2 Drought Response Measures

Due to the ongoing drought conditions, all Sienna MUDs have initiated Stage 2 of their Drought Contingency Plans.

Mandatory Water Conservation Measures are now in place.

All outdoor water usage not limited to Lawn and Garden Watering, Car Washing, and Window Washing, shall be limited as follows:

  1. Outdoor water use shall be prohibited between the hours of 6:00 a.m.-10 a.m. and between the hours of 6:00 p.m. and 12:00 a.m. (midnight)
  2. Only district residents with even-numbered addresses may water on even numbered days.
  3. Only district residents with odd-numbered addresses may water on odd numbered days.

Stage 1 Drought Response Measures

All Sienna MUD Districts are currently operating under Stage 1 Drought Response Measures

Due to the ongoing drought conditions, all Sienna MUDs have initiated Stage 1 of their Drought Contingency Plans.

Voluntary water conservation measures are now in place.

The district is asking all residents and businesses’ to voluntarily reduce their water usage.

Residents can help reduce water demand by following the following conservation tips:

  1. Routinely monitor irrigation systems for leaks.
  2. Irrigate lawns in early morning and late in the evenings.
  3. Check indoor plumbing for leaks and running toilets.

Main Line Repairs in Sienna 4 and 6

Si Environmental will be performing repairs to the water main near the intersection of Waters Lake Boulevard and Sienna Parkway.

Repairs are scheduled to begin on 8/1/23 at 6p.m. During this time, residents in Sienna 4 and Sienna 6 may experience lower than normal water pressure.

There has been a main line break in the south part of Sienna.

Crews are in route to make repairs. Residents in Sienna 4 and Sienna 6 may experience low pressure until repairs are complete.
